gettin' ready for fall ... part 2!

These will be arriving soon as I just placed an order with beautifulbridget! I am sooo excited to get them!(in Marigold, Lemongrass & Cranberry!) I even have a new fall style headband! Fall hours to be announced soon as well! Happy Monday! It is our last day of summer vaca and the kids are off to school tomorrow!

New.. new..

So I am super excited about the small batches of vintage clothing I have found and appliqued on! They are simple.. but yet beautiful vintage flower appliques! I loove them! I just did this dress that I found at a thrift store last week! ;)

I also will NOT be at the market tomorrow.. the forecast is a bit chilly and windy for me to be outside selling skirts... so with that the shop will be open 10-2! Come in and see what is new!!!

New headbands..

Here are a few headbands I have been working on... I love the beaded style! So cute! I have been having problems w/ my pics uploading and not sure what is going on. :( Luckily I took some random pics around the shop so I would have some blogging topics!

I also am starting something new! We are doing our share of recycling.. so if you bring in your dainty daisies shopping bag from a previous purchase for you to reuse you will get 10% off your entire purchase! Yay! (and yes it must be a dainty daisies shopping bag!)

gettin' ready for Fall......

Well I apologize once again for the little blog break! My husband and kids took a road trip in my beetle to Montana! I have been without my camera for over a week. I am working hard on new things for fall. I finally picked up some corduroy for fall wrap skirts.. purses are starting to turn plaid with some wool like vintage fabrics. I also have been putting simple appliques on vintage clothing! It is sooo much fun and I am recycling!

Fall hours soon to be posted as my hours will change when my kids go back to school.. in less then a week! It makes me sooo sad summer is over!

Fall inspiration clip boards...

I aplogize everyone.. I didn't really mean to take a blog break! I have been sooo busy! I actually took a few days and went down to Madison to hang out w/ some good friends and my family! :)

I was bored the other day at the shop and made some little inspiration pages that I clipped on clip boards! I hung them in the bathroom at the shop for fun! I have lots of inspirations in my sewing room.. I may find a snippet here and there and hang it up! It is usually a fabric.. or color and sometimes even a building like a barn or log cabin .. don't know, it just is! :)

Hope your week has been great! I am sewing all night tonight.. I have 2 wrap skirts left total.. YIKES!

New recycled shirt skirts!

Oh how I love these! So I have been looking around for ideas (inspirations) to make some recycled skirts... I first came up with the camp skirt made with mostly vintage fabrics & now the recycled men shirts skirts! I have seen some variations and I finally came up with my own! I love them.. they not only are sooo comftorable.. adorable and I am using some really cool thrifted mens shirts (recycled)! They have a simple elastic waist and I loove the button front with the original hem. Very flirty! I wore mine pulled up high waisted today with a vintage belt!

let me know what you think... I sold one today already and I got lots of compliments on mine! They are only $20.00 ea. I will have to take pics of the tags tomorrow.. they came out soo cute as well!

Inpirations....

Yes.. please feel free to be INPSPIRED by my work not copy. I have to say this & I am sooo sorry to the people who read my blog... but I was at hobby lobby last night looking for paper & I overheard a young girl ask a lady if she knew where she could get some supplies to make headbands?? That she had been in a shop where the girl (me) makes them ect... Won't go into all the details. Ok This is what this does to me.. my heart sinks.. I get really angry and a pit in my stomach! I can't tell you HOW HARD I work to come up with new and original ideas.. and I am INPSPIRED all the time by other artists.. but have NEVER copied anyones work without their permission.. meaning copyright permission!
I also CAN NOT pay my rent by people coming telling me they LOVE my shop not spend a dime and the go an try to make it!!! Lastly my headbands are $15.00 and most if not all of my things are sooo affordable.. it really would cost you your time and energy to copy me.. why???? This is what this does to someone like me! Sorry it had to be said.. I am really angry, mostly because I recognized the girl.. she came in.. did not buy anything from me and then proceeds to copy me! I would be less upset had you bought a few headbands.....

I had a different post for today.. but I am feeling the need to remind people.. just because I handmake my products does not give you the right to copy them! Please be respectful... once again. I can not keep my cute shop doors open with people who look & copy!! Alot of items are limited edition if not one of a kind.. if you are out there copying then what???

By the way I said nothing to her... I am a business owner and felt that was not professional. I do believe in karma and I am pretty sure she saw me when she turned the corner! What are the odds that I was an aisle away when she was asking for the info.

I am sooo proud of myself....

I have made it a entire summer(now that it is August) and have not cut my hair off! Those of you who know me know that is huge for me!I have no plans too.. I would like ot grow it pretty long! I even went and had it trimmed about a month ago and didn't get the urge! Lol!

We had a successful rummage sale yesterday.. sold lots of stuff and the kids got their Wii! I have the house clean, laundry done and nothing too major on my to do list.. so I am taking the first Monday in a long time to myself! ;)

I am writing you to pleeeease ask you to make it stop raining on Saturday a.m.'s it is really hurting my wallet! I know our earth needs water to make pretty things like flowers and such grow! Could you please just hold off until after the Market or maybe before??? I would appreciate it!

So someone weird is leaving comments on my blog.. and when I go to check them out which I always do. It looks as thought it is some spammer! So I now have the settings change.. you may still leave comments but I have to approve them! Which stinks!!!

pattern magnets are back....

I almost sold out of these this last week & after a quick trip to the thrift store and digging in my personal stash! I whipped up these sweet gals last night! I adore them sooo much! I love the stories people tell when they see them! I have a few 80's gals hanging out on the vintage fridge (not shown) ADORABLE!!!

Today was a nice slow.. but profitable day! I love that!

Happy Monday everyone! Gallery walk was a blast! Thank you everyone who came out! I had so much fun with my friend Stef! Her new work is mazing! Sorry no pics.. husband took the camera to EAA! I will take some Wed. when I get back to the shop!

Today is cleaning day.. laundry.. uugh! I am also going to try and one day rummage sale with the kids on Sunday! We will see! Have a great day!
