Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween! My daughter & I handed out candy at the shop this afternoon.. I apologize for running out. It was supposed to be from 2-4 but everyone came early! It was still a fun day.. and I hope many of you who came out today will come back again & support our downtown!



I dressed up as the Fox Mom from Fantastic Mr. Fox! I purchased the handmade felt fox mask on Etsy and the rest of my costume was pieces I already owned... my tail was from my son Max's Max costume from Where the Wild things are!! :)

Oshkosh made COZY!

I am sooooo excited about the new knit cowls & bow pins made by the sweetest U.W.O student Amanda! :) I love her work!! I am always so happy to see young women from the university excited to craft & I almost ALWAYS love their work. I have 3 UWO students currently selling wares in my shop!



she just dropped off a few new cowls & pins in the prettiest fall colors.






she even made me one and a cute lil' bow pin.. that I plan on wearing with my winter jacket.. although currently I am boycotting my winter jacket! ;)



The shop is open 10-5 today.. I have been busy with customers & working on holiday accessories!

Tomorrow is downtown Trick or Treat! Fun activities in Opera House square from 12-2 followed by Trick or Treating at downtown participating shops 2-4!

spooky hair pins....

I made up some really cute spooky hair pins yesterday! This is the last week for Halloween/Fall goodies.. then it is all about the upcoming holidays! ;) I am having a little sale today thru Friday 10% off all Halloween hair accessories including the fall glittery leaf bobby pins!

I am closing at 4:00 today! Today is my husband's birthday and I am heading home a little early to surprise him with a chili dinner and a baked apple pie! His favorite! :)

Trick or Treat downtown!

Looking for a safe place to Trick or Treat? Come on downtown Saturday... Trick or Treat at participating shops from 12-4!(shop hours are 10-4 that day) I just bought all my candy & I am excited about my costume. :) There is a parade, games & so much more!

On shop talk... Main st is supposed to open today.. on the section up to Algoma blvd. It is not open as we speak, but lets keep our fingers crossed! I also heard that it will reopen entirely next Friday. Yay!

There is lots going on .. I am staying very busy organizing Handmade for the Holidays which is less than a month away! Yikes. I also have two other holiday shows to prepare for in Madison! I am taking a mini break and going to see Ingrid Michaelson tomorrow night with some friends and I can't wait.

My kids have a Fall dance at their school and Halloween parties to prepare for! I hope you all have a great weekend filled with lots of Fall fun!

Vintage LOVE!

I am so excited to finally add some of my vintage items to the shop! I have a select amount of vintage dresses & soon wool skirts. Some are reconstructed & some I have left as is! I am also carrying beautiful vintage dresses by my friend Rebecca of Picture Day & I think together we offer a nice selection covering many eras! :)



Here is the new set up on my new Ikea rack! I love this rack & I made a little pennant banner out of vintage shelfing paper. I added the words vintage.. although it is not quite finished. I have plans to finsih the letters with glass glitter!



I also made up some new long sleeve bow tee's! I love them!! Two of the bows are made with corduroy fabric...

Look what just arrived at the shop today all the way from Alanta Georgia...



new eco friendly coin purses made of fused plastic bags handmade by So She Sews. They are adorable. I have one myself and use it all the time. It is the perfect size for your id and a few dollars. :) I have 12 in stock in a nice assortment of colors.

I also just got in a shipment of adult mix it up sweaters from The painted daisy. I will share pics tomorrow!

Meet Dexter!

Meet Dexter! He us our 18 week old Pug/Minky mix puppy! We surprised my daughter with him Saturday for her birthday! :) He is the cuuuUuuutest.. but it is like having a baby all over again. He wakes up in the middle of the night & he cries when we have to kennel him! Our yellow lab Buster is not quite so sure about Dexter.. but he has been following him around like a parent(which I think is so cute!)



Happy Monday! I have lots to do today... but I have a feeling lots of snuggling with Dexter is what is going to get done!

Eeeek! We might be getting one of these tomorrow! Fingers crossed! It is my daughter Jada's 11th birthday & she is obsessed with pugs! I think I found one.. it is a mix but looks just like a pug! I find out tomorrow! p.s. It is a surprise so don't tell her! :)

Bow headbands...

New bow headbands! I am just in love with these!!! I am always happy when I come up with something to make out of the scraps from my wrap skirts. I also am very much obsessed with making bows right now! I can't stop!



The bows are adjustable & slide on the metal headband peice so you can adjust the bow where you want it on your head.



I have plans to make a few of the smaller bows on bobby pins as well.






GUESS WHAT??? I finally found some time to list a few things in my Etsy shop! I have plans on keeping it stocked with accessories & wrap skirts until spring. I know the photos are not the best.. I am in no way a photographer, so I hope you can look past the quality of my photos!

Ok so they are not really new! I have been making button accesories for at least 4 years now! :) I love that I can use up my little scraps and make something unique and fun to wear! Once in awhile I find a cute "special" fabric that I purchase only for button making! Well I stopped at an adorable fabric store in Minneapolis called Craft Planet and found these.. and a few more that will become wrap skirts!

Fall goodies!

New Fall scarves & arm warmers arrived today from The Painted Daisy. Handmade from recycled sweaters!

So cute.. not to mention comfy & cozy!






I also made up a few more wrap skirts in Fall colors & corduroy! They are all one of a kind as always!



I love the mix of fabrics! The vintage plaid is so fun! I have purses planned to make out of that fabric as well.

Minneapolis.. "I like you!"

My husband & I spent the weekend in Minneapolis for our 10yr wedding anniversary! I pretty much fell head over heels for the Uptown area.. even though we stayed downtown.

We stopped at a cute handmade boutique like mine named "I like you" How cute is that?? The owners were so sweet & their shop is adorable!



I loved the retro/vintage feel of the uptown area..



we ate breakfast Saturday at the cutest cafe called Cafeteria (& support group) They had retractable windows so even though we were indoors it was like we were outside.(more photo's to come)

I just fell in love with all the amazing vintage shops.. boutiques and cafe's. I was so giddy all weekend! Everyone was so friendly too.. which is always a bonus!



I will be posting a few more pics later of Minneapolis & of some amazing new inventory for my shop.. arm warmers & scarves arrived this morning as well as 4 new wrap skirts!

I just received a lovely package from Whimsy house.. filled with lots of new jewelry! Beautiful vintage button necklaces, earrings ..



& new felt broaches.(by whimsy house)



I have been working on all my new fancy headbands for the Fall and upcoming holiday season! I looove them all!



I am off on a little weekend getaway with my hubby! We celebrated our 10yr wedding anniversary yesterday and he surprised me with these lovely flowers. They are sooo AMAZING in person!



We will be open til' 5:00 tonight and my new shop girl Jenny will be holding down the fort on Saturday.. hours are 10:30-1 tomorrow (she has a previous engagement)
