Back to school plaid & floral rosie headbands!

It's hard to believe that it
is THAT time of year again!
I am trying to hang on to summer but with
the start of football, high school sports &
school registration I have to give in... sigh!

I do love Fall & cooler temps, don't get me
wrong! Fall is a lovely season but I am just
not ready! I did however
recently find some amazing
vintage plaids & floral fabrics
that are now adorable
 rosie headbands!
Perfect for back to school & Fall!

I will be at the Appleton Downtown
Farmer's market this Saturday from 8-12:30.

Happy Wednesday friends! :)

Our wedding anniversary & heavy hearts!

We celebrated our second wedding
anniversary this past week on the
27th. Our wedding was nothing
short of amazing, surrounded by
our closest family & friends!

My friend & our very talented wedding photographer
put together a little video of the day.

While we are so thankful to be so in love
& celebrate another anniversary,
our hearts are heavy as just a few days
before we got the news that
my cousins daughter had
passed away from a rare cancer,

I think we all had high hopes of her
recovering. Sofia was just 12
years old & the sweetest soul.

I shared the photo above because my
family is small & she is actually in the
photo with my family on the right.

Our thoughts & prayers are with my cousin
& her family this week as we attend the funeral.

If you can please send extra prayers to Jenny
& Antonio. I know they as well as their other
two children are going to need it to get through
this difficult time.

Don't take life for granted, live life to the fullest,
love as much as you can & let go of hate!
Life is just too short for all that!

xo, Michelle

Hello May & Mother's day weekend!

We had a wonderful Mother's day weekend!
My in laws came & spent most of the day with us.
The boys played on the trampoline,
& we ate lunch out doors on our
new DIY table!

I was showered with flowers,
 hand written notes
cards, instagram posts from my son...
I feel very loved!

They look beautiful on
our dining room table! :)

DIY table...

Bill & I made this table
the other day. We used an old door
 that my friends neighbor was
throwing out (it was original to his
house & over 100 years old)

It's solid wood (very heavy) & I love it!!
We kept the original
paint & just sealed it.

We attached it to (believe it or not)
an old table base that we
found in the basement of our house!

The cost of the  table = FREE, even the screws (also from a
huge tool box in our basement).

Our chairs all second hand, vintage.
The padded 70s one are my
favorites. We bought them
at an estate sale last summer for $1
each & they have the original
owners name written on them.

The family was sooo happy that we
were buying them & would actually use them as
they were their grandparents/parents
favorite chairs.
They are super comfy too!

I hope you all had a great weekend!
I am spending the rest of May
gearing up for the farmers market
in downtown Appleton
next Month.

Hello May!!!

Happy Friday... life lately!

Life as of lately....

I found this cute guy at the
thrift store for $2. He is getting a make over
& flowers for our garden.

Another sweet thrifted find that I painted
& planted some pretty pink petunias in.
I have been itching to garden
with the lovely weather we
are currently enjoying.
I know.. baby steps. We do
live in Wisconsin. ;)

Lizzie is doing well & adjusting to our home
quite nicely!Her new favorite spot
is in our bay window. She
can be found there in her bed most days!

The teller at my bank gave me this flower
today & said "Happy Mother's day Michelle,
Have a great weekend!" I told her that really made my day
& I drove off crying!
It's the littlest things that can make a difference in
someones day! I have to deal with some
unpleasant things in my life as we all do
but some days are challenging &
this is exactly what I needed today!

Happy Mother's day weekend
to all the Mama's out there &
to everyone have a great weekend!
xo!

Welcome Lizzie Bennet!

We have been a bit busy over here
snuggling with this sweet girl &
making her feel welcome
in our home!

We recently adopted (well fostering
for a few weeks until we make it official) a
7 year old Siamese mix kitty
named Lizzie Bennet!

We are absolutely smitten with her!

She is particularly fond of Bill!
I think he spoils her just a bit & she is up
to greet him every morning when he gets
ready for work!

The weather was beautiful the other
day so we had the windows open
& she loves sitting in the windows!

She was helping me shop for a cat condo but
we have yet to commit to one. ;)

They all seem to be getting along just fine..
Dexter still is a little unsure but
he is also my baby & gets a little
jealous! All was well with
our little pet family the other night. Lizzie
in the window, Bugsy on the dog bed &
Dexter in the chair!

This picture makes my heart melt.
Bugsy & Lizzie were
snuggling last night. She was all
stretched out at one point on him.

I bought her the new yellow
collar with the flower on it!
I love that I can get her girly kitty things
& I am not a bling person (which is all that seems to
be out there for kitties) so
this was perfect! The collar
is from Target for $3.99.

Happy Wednesday friends! xo!

Thrifty succulents!

I found the cutest faux succulents at
the most unexpected place...
the family dollar store!

They were a $1 each!
I did remove them from their not
so cute containers however &
planted them in
the cutest vintage planter that
I picked up for $1 as well.

I decided to plant them in dirt.
in hopes to make them look real.
I am in love with the
look of succulents but
I have never been
able to keep them alive!
This was a great inexpensive alternative
to real plants.

Now to find something for
the deer planter. Maybe a cute herb
of some sort?

I am really, really happy with the
look of this little corner
of our breezeway!

xo!

We're thinkin' Spring!

I am trying really hard to channel Spring
with new accessories!
New Spring flapper girl headbands
are here with soft jersey knits in
florals, stripes & polk a dots!

I have been really lucky lately &
found some new to me
vintage fabric! I love this new
batch of hair bows/ bow ties!

I am also a little obsessed with turban
headbands! They fit the look
of my vintage inspired accessories &
 are so comfy!

They are all made from recycled
materials like my flapper girl headbands.

I really love the this batch
of Spring fabric button earrings!

I have restocked most of
the shops that carry my wares with
Spring goodies &
I will be selling at
The Artery in downtown Appleton
April 30th from 9-2 (SAVE THE DATE)!

Happy Spring!?!

I am so ready for Spring &
with snow on the way I am trying
my hardest to stay positive! ;)

I made up the sweetest 60s inspired Spring
headbands that are on their
way to I like you in Minneapolis!
Don't worry I plan on making a few for
The Crafty Fair in Madison, April 10th as well!

I must be in the Spring mind set! I
found these adorable lotus bowls
at the thrift store today! We have mini
lotus bowls but these are normal size.
I think they were a steal at 50 cents each!

I am ready for birds chirping, butterflies,
green grass, gardens & outdoors parties!
If anything I guess my headbands
scream Spring!

Hopefully this is the last of the white stuff
for us here in Wisconsin!

Happy Spring!!! xo!

Life lately...

I found this little dish yesterday
for .25 cents! I love it! :)
There has been a lot of dreaming over here!

A few signs of Spring! I am loving
the weather!!! It was 62 degrees in
Oshkosh yesterday & I will take it even
if winter is not over yet!

Lately I have made it a point to thrift
all of my clothes & I have found
over a dozen dresses that I truly love &; most
have been under $2.

I am making it a point to get rid of something
when I buy something new!

I almost can't buy anything new when
I know I can buy a boutique
dress for $1.50.
I get many compliments on my dresses &
people always seemed shocked when I
tell them where I bought them!
I am ok with that, it's fun
& I love thrifting!

Speaking of... I found this cute handmade
lap blanket, like new for Dexter & I think
he loves it! He has been on it
since I gave it to him!
It's so cute &
I love the colors in it & it was $1.75! :)

We had a show last weekend in Milwaukee at
Discovery World! It was a fun day &
I REALLY love working with my hubby!
He is pretty much the BEST business
partner ever!

Spring is on it's way & I am enjoying some
down time until the
busy summer season starts for me!

p.s. Be sure to check out our new blog..
for DIY's & our candle business!
